Host
Responsibilities
- Meet, greet, and welcome guests on arrival
- Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists for tables for proper flow
- Manage and take dining reservations; in person and over the phone
- Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
- Provide menus and announce Wait Staff's name
- Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
- Maintain a clean guest reception area
- Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, elderly)
- Answer incoming calls and address customers' queries
- Assist Wait Staff as required
- Handle customer payments through the establishment's POS system or other payment processing system
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Host or Wait Staff
- Understanding of hospitality etiquette
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Experience in managing reservations
- Demonstrable customer service skills and ability to handle customer conflict
- Excellent communication skills and manner (phone, email, and in-person)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area
- Understand and comply with food and beverage regulations
- Physical ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- A responsible and trustworthy team player
